Conrail Quality Locomotives - Under Construction At This Time
Here you will see a photo segment of the Conrail locomotives that are or were on NS rails before being repainted or retired. Each section you can either view the photo's or the roster. Each class has a considerable amount of locomotives.
EMD: 6 Axles
This section features all EMD locomotives in the SD class, such as SD45, SD40-2, SD50, SD60, SD60I, SD60M, SD70MAC, and the SD80MAC. The most common of the SD 6 Axels is the SD40-2. The SD40-2 is most known for being used in helper service. They always worked in pairs when pushing or pulling a train.
EMD: GP 4 Axles
This section features all EMD locomotives in their GP class, such as GP38-2,
and GP40-2. These locomotives haul shorter and lighter trains around the
system. They were also transported to other parts of the system in a

EMD: Switchers
EMD produced a number of switcher class locomotives, such as the SW1000, SW1200, and SW1500. These locomotives were usually found switching train yards or in local train service over the system.
General Electric: 6 Axles
GE produces a number of 6 axel locomotives for railroads around the world. GE has been in the locomotive business since the 1920's as resources I have found say. Some of the locomotives you will see in this section include, Dash 8-40C, Dash 8-40CW, and Dash 8-41CW. Conrail was not around long enough to upgrade to the Dash 9 series of the locomotive. The Dash 8-41CW was the last Dash series Conrail ordered from GE
